Work Order Transition Requirements

When switching between work orders in the Service app, if no Work Performed Notes (at least once for the day) have been recorded within the specified timeframe, technicians must enter their notes before they can start working on or travel to the next work order. If a minimum character count is required, technicians will also need to meet that minimum. NOTE: These requirements can be configured in HQ Company Settings>Service Settings>Technician Capability. Requires Service app version 2.66.1 or higher.


For example, let's say that in HQ Company Settings>Service Settings>Technician Capability the 'Labor Minutes to Require Work Performed' is set to 15 minutes and the 'Work Performed Minimum Length' is set to 30.


  1. Technician is actively working on a work order, needs to stop working on this one and begin working in another work order. If they have not entered any work performed notes for the current day and for the configured time they will be prompted:
